It was surprising to me to discover that many in the health care industry itself are concerned about the safety of early childhood vaccinations. This was sharply brought to my attention by Melissa, the radiologist who recently performed my mammogram when she initiated a conversation about the dangers of the program.

Apparently the current program calls for beginning immunizations as soon as the child is born. Along with this new protocol has come a huge influx of new cases of autism. According to the lady I was speaking with the new cases are now reported to be 1 in 4.

Melissa, stated that it was believed that the new cases of autism were suspected by many to be related to the child???s immune system not being developed enough to handle the vaccines. To me this once again showed how medical personnel believe what drug companies promote without considering the motive of the person selling the product.

In China, it should be noted that early childhood vaccines do not even begin until a child has reached the age of 2 when their immune systems have developed to the point of being able to handle the vaccine. Perhaps if we used the same restraint we could both protect our children from deadly diseases while at the same time protecting their young bodies from serious consequences. Remember what happened in the 50s with Thalidomide? At the time doctor???s thought it was safe. It wasn???t and many babies suffered from the results.

However, I must state that I am not against vaccines in general as I believe that they do help to control diseases that at one time were deadly to many children. It is just that like all drugs I think that long-term research needs to be conducted to assure their safety and the age at which they are safe to be given. My thoughts then are basically that if healthcare professionals themselves question the safety of injecting vaccines into newborns why not wait until they are older? Give their young bodies enough time to adjust to life especially since in the beginning their bodies are protected by their mother???s antibodies and if she was vaccinated then for a brief time they should also be protected.
