This is a little tip i found that works for both windows xp and windows vista, it simply speeds up the shut down process so you don’t have to wait for (possibly) a long time.
1: Go to start and then click on run and type regedit
2: browse to this location:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControl Set/Control.
3: you should see something on the right side of the window called “WaitToKillServiceTimeout”, double click on it and change the value to somethng lower than 1000. I set it to 200
If you have done that correctly then you should notice a difference in the shut down speed
Thanks for reading.
