It is that time again, Firefox 3 is about ready to go and I am patiently waiting for the official downloading to begin. There are some great improvements to Firefox 3, I have been using Firefox 3 since it was available on their developer page and the biggest difference between Firefox 2 and 3 is the amount of memory it uses. Firefox 2 uses around 100MBs of memory, Firefox 3 uses about 1/3rd the memory at 33MBs. Of course this depends on the amount of tabs you have open and extensions you may be using. They say there are over 15,000 improvements made to Firefox 3, out of those 15,000 I really like the extensions and the visual quality. Of course Firefox 3 still has all the user friendly personalizations, I am really looking forward to is the personas, the really cool skinning extension (or add-on) that will allow users to change the overall look of Firefox without having to change the buttons, if you like the stock look of it.
So I wait for 10 am to begin my download or maybe I can just update the current version? I will find out here in a bit. I hope their servers can handle the massive amount of downloads I am expecting there to be. We shall wait and see. I hope everyone is as excited about the new Firefox 3 as I am, well except all those people who love IE.
You might want to wait for about a half hour before trying to download, things can get pretty slow right now.
