This is just kewl. Jonathan Coulton, likely most known for his tune “Code Monkey”, is doing very pro-CC thing. I have had teh good fortune to shoot a few e-mails back and forth with Mr. Coulton. He is a very likable musician and is very much into the Creative Commons philosophy.
According to this post at Lessig Jonathan has agreed to release “JoCo Looks Back” on a custom 1Gb thumb drive. He is also releasing all the original tracks from his works to make them available for remixes.
Kudos to Mr. Coulton not only for his great music but his embracing the era of new media and intellectual property.

19 November 2008 POD - Phil Ayoub
Phil Ayoub
Today is “Have a Bad Day” Day. I thought it was kind of a neat idea until I saw the copyright notice information at the web site above. I still think it is a neat idea but I do not like the idea of copyrighting Holidays. Who knows, maybe I am just having a bad day.
With that in mind, I went with “Welcome to the Nightlife - Bad Day” by Phil Ayoub. Seems Phil is one of those musicians who has been around a while. He is a former Back Streeter. I found him over at The Podsafe Music Network. Honestly, I like every tune I have heard by this guy.
So get out there and have a bad day folks.

18 November 2008 POD - Deaf Dunderkwac
Deaf Dunderkwac
Today I went with a band that is eclectic and, according to the Facebook profile, is a one man band. I like the description of his album over at Facebook “an annoying album of instrumentals with no individual track ID’s” for it shows a sense of humor.
Today’s track easily falls into the experimental genre but, in my opinion, is done very well. It brings in other sounds against this sitar-like sound in a nice flowing manner. It blends repetition and variety in a pleasing manner. I think it makes for a good “different” track and fills almost nine minutes in a non-boring manner. I would love to hear what you think in a comment.
Today’s Selection is “Interruption Partial Tension” by Deaf Dunderkwac. I found him over at Podsafe Audio.
Also, for what it is worth, today is Mickey Mouse Day and Push button Phone Day. That is according to this neat calandar of such dates.
